Post-doc
Yunnan Key laboratory for Palaeobiology, Yunnan University, Kunming, China
May 2018 –
My project focuses on the palaeobiology of the Cambrian arthropods from the Chengjiang fauna.
Associated researcher
UMR 6118 Géosciences, Université Rennes 1, Rennes, France
September 2016 – April 2018
During my association to the Géoscience lab, I continued my work on decapod crustaceans and diversified my research: fossil pycnogonids (with R. Sabroux), crustaceans from Charente (with D. Gendry, B. van Bakel, H. Karasawa) and also the study of extant polychelidans.
Post-doc (ATER: Attaché Temporaire d’Enseignement et de Recherge)
EA7316 Biodiversité et Gestion des Territoires, Université Rennes 1, Rennes, France
September 2014 – August 2016
This first post-doc was mainly focused on teaching biology to undergraduate and graduate (Master) students. For research, I continued to publish on fossil polychelidans (decapod crustaceans), and on crustaceans from the Cretaceous of Lebanon.
Tutored student: C. Chény (Université Rennes 1).
PhD student with teaching missions
UMR 7207 CR2P (Centre de Recherche sur la Paléobiodiversité et les Paléoenvironnements).
October 2011 – September 2014
My PhD focused on polychelidan lobsters. I had four main axes of research: their systematic, palaeobiology, palaeoenvironment and evolutionary history. In addition, I gave some courses to from middle school to master students and participated in public events (Fête de la science).
Participation to scientific excavation in Lebanon
Byblos region, Lebanon
September 2011
I was invited by Sylvain Charbonnier to participate to a campaign of scientific excavation in Lebanon. This campaign was organised by the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, with the local help of the Abi Saad family (Memory of Time, Byblos). Our mission allowed us to collect about 500 hundred specimens, most of which corresponded to new species.
Master student
UMR 7207 CR2P (Centre de Recherche sur la Paléobiodiversité et les Paléoenvironnements).
February 2009 – June 2010 (research period during Master 1)
February 2010 – June 2011 (research period during Master 2)
My two master theses focused on fossil crustaceans from the Cretaceous of Lebanon:
- The crested shrimps of Sahel Alma: Palaeobenthesicymus libanensis
- A redescription of several species of fossil crustaceans from the Cretaceous of Lebanon.
These researches led to the publication of 5 research articles, including 2 as first author. The rest of this work was incorporated in the monography Fossil Crustacea of Lebanon.
Voluntary work
UMR 7207 CR2P (Centre de Recherche sur la Paléobiodiversité et les Paléoenvironnements).
June 2009 – July 2009
I ordered collections of invertebrates from the Cretaceous from Lebanon and Madagascar. At this time, I discovered a new species of fossil squat lobster which was published later in the monography Fossil Crustacea of Lebanon.
